Dermatix Scar Treatment Gel, 15 g
About this deal
Dermatix should not be applied to open or fresh wound Dermatix should not be placed in contact with mucous membranes or applied too close to the eyes Dermatix should not be applied over antibiotic skin preparations or other skin treatments and/or products. Dermatix® Silicone Sheet Clear provides a unique combination of transparency, flexibility and adhesiveness. Dermatix ® * Ultra and Dermatix Ultra Kids are topical silicone gels containing a vitamin C ester that helps lighten scar tissue. There’s no evidence to suggest that there is an issue when using Dermatix Gel when pregnant or breastfeeding.
This transparent gel dries quickly to flatten and soften scar tissue, effectively fading dark, red or angry scars. Vitamin C derivatives are used in various skin-care products for skin lightening and protection against ultraviolet A/B light. This happens via the skin producing scar tissue, which can have a different appearance to normal skin. There was also unanimous agreement that early use of Dermatix Ultra Kids helps prevent scar formation in children, with regular twice-daily use producing visible results after 1 week.
Improved scar appearance with combined use of silicone gel and vitamin C for Asian patients: a comparative case series. The other side is lined with silky-smooth fabric, which makes it comfortable and convenient to use under clothing.
The Dermatix brand was successfully re-launched by Meda Pharmaceuticals Ltd when they acquired European businesses from the American company Valeant in 2008. They form at the exact place where your skin has suffered trauma, and again, they can be overproduced. The silicone fabric sheet has a lining on one side that sticks to the skin while the other side has a silky-smooth texture. Any information given on this site may not necessarily be current or take your own individual health situation into account. In wound healing, dehydration of an immature stratum corneum can occur, leading to the stimulation of keratinocytes, which release cytokines that in turn activate dermal fibroblasts. The case series of Asian patients presented here examines the effectiveness of Dermatix Ultra silicone gel for the treatment of hypertrophic scars, including keloid, in routine clinical practice. Amongst surgical cases, scarring in a 25-year-old woman (case 5) undergoing lower eyelid surgery and treated with Dermatix Ultra silicone gel gradually improved during 11 months of post-operative monitoring ( Figure 5). Following planned surgery for bilateral complete cleft lip and palate in a 3-month-old child (case 7) treated with an injection of botulinum toxin and topical Dermatix Ultra silicone gel for 6 months, scarring was not noticeable at 9 months of follow-up ( Figure 7). People that continue using silicone gels for extended periods of time see the most remarkable improvements to their scars long-term.
Dermatix is used for the management of scars after the wound has healed and the skin surface is intact, and in the prevention of scar development in the form of keloids and hypertrophic scars resulting from general surgical procedures, trauma wounds and burns. Please note that for prospective purchasers of aesthetic treatments, information and guidance provided does not substitute an in-depth consultation with an experienced practitioner. No keloid scar formation after 6 months of treatment with Dermatix Ultra silicone gel; the patient (currently aged 42 years) has a nice, flat 1-line scar (pre-treatment photo not available) (case 11). Dermatix® gel is very simple to apply and should be used at least twice a day (morning and evening). In addition, almost all (6/7) agreed that it should be used continuously for at least 3 months (and preferably 6 months) for serious surgical scars in children.Dermatix has been shown to flatten, soften and smooth scars, relieve the itching and discomfort of scars as well as reduce the discolouration associated with scars.
