Gabriel's Promise: 4 (Gabriel's Inferno)
About this deal
After finishing Gabriel’s Promise there were some questions and pieces that I would love to see tied up. I re-read the first three books to prepare for this one, because my Bookalzheimers is just way too bad. But I clearly remember beautiful prose, easy flow of the story and emotional impact that books had on me.
I was completely absorbed from the first book than I came across and ever since – HOOKED completely. Would love to see Gabriel’s promise in a movie and also another installment after Gabriel’s promise. Note to the author - Thank you for creating this gem and bringing my favorite characters back to life. I wanted to read an amazing romance and not chapters after chapters of Dante and hell and faith and whatnot!
I have read hundreds of books since Gabriel’s Inferno, none of them have the elements I have found within the series. If you’ve followed me for any length of time on social media, you already know that Sylvain Reynard is one of my favorite authors.
For me, reading a new volume from the Gabriel'sInferno series is like participating in a family reunion and seeing dear people I haven't seen in a long time. The author doesn't forget to include some romantic and memorable scenes which only Gabriel has the secret . While I was very happy that Sylvain Reynard wrote this 4th book, I had been content with the completion of the trilogy. It really had great potential, but it ended up being a little like a secondary storyline just to have the mystery included, and it starts to fizzle after that above mentioned big event. Enamored with this couple from their first enchanted night spent under the stars in the apple orchard, through all the trials and tribulations they endured, they have become some of my most cherished storybook characters. From the numerous appearances of an unmarked car to the mysterious break-in at their once-secure home, Gabriel Emerson battles between head and heart knowing to turn down the prestigious offer means destroying his career in the blink of an eye. Si bien con lo fan que soy de la trilogía me gustaría saber más de la vida de sus personajes en el futuro, lo cierto es que con este libro no me aclaran mucho. To put it in perspective, the first audiobook in this series was about 20 hours long, while this book is only about 9 hours long.
I am honoured to have had all three of my novels appear on the New York Times and USA Today Bestseller lists. I just love Gabriel as a father, as a professor, as a brother, son, but mostly I love him as a husband and his undying love for Julianne and Clare, not matter what. And if you are new to the series, you will be pleased to be able to just jump in (though at some point you will probably want to see how it all began).I did find the first 25% or so a little slow, and a little heavy handed on the religion stuff - that's just the athiest in me I guess! I read some reviews saying that there were questions left unanswered in Gabriel’s Promise, but in reality, there aren’t. Family stays together and they cheer and support each other no matter our disagreements or how different we all are.
