is frequently in evidence in the numerous lower light moments throughout the film, beginning with the opening sequence. Four years after the events of last year’s Halloween Kills, Laurie is living with her granddaughter Allyson and is finishing writing her memoir. All of which was promised alongside paying loving homage to John Carpenter’s original and providing fans with what they REALLY wanted – a good, old fashioned slasher movie, with a body count and bloodletting to match. Halloween Kills” followed and the sequel marked a steep decline in quality, and unfortunately the finale, “Halloween Ends,” is more of the same. As Corey gets most of the screen time, this leads the film to an unexcitingly bland final showdown between iconic final girl Jamie Lee Curtis and The Shape. Four years ago, director David Gordon Green breathed new life into the most iconic horror franchise of all time.

Surround Sound Presentation: There’s plenty of fun around the room with both creepy ambiance as well as some nice unique jumps coming from the rear and side channels. The third and final film in Green’s trilogy hits 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and Digital this month with a Collector’s Edition home release loaded with extras. I can see what they were going for, but in the rush to explore deeper themes, they forgot the trashy fun part - I liked Halloween (2018) because first and foremost it got the slasher parts mostly right, with the added thrill of seeing Laurie back on the screen; Kills got the trashy slasher part very right (I didn't mind he had gone Full Vorhees here, he was a lean, mean killing machine and he was great!

The character of Corey is an excellent addition to the cast and Campbell delivers a dynamic performance – it’s just far too late to be introducing a character this important in the final chapter of the trilogy. This talks about the new addition to Haddonfield, the actor who played him and how this works as the final piece of closure to the Michael Myers story. Hair is fine and clearly delineated, while skin pores and fine lines are clear, while clothing has subtle yet obvious differentials in their overall texture. With this one, I liked the Cody idea but Laurie’s character seemed wholly at odds with the one that ended Kills (even more so in the extended version) and there was no real explanation as to why she’d spent 40 years preparing in 2018 for him to break out, and then wasn’t apparently bothered after a key murder ended Kills, and the fact that MM was still on the loose. which may have been the point but was mishandled IMHO) and some weak linkages back to the previous film (seems like suddenly Haddonfield remembered Myers when the night/film before not so much. There’s no grain on show and therefore disc compression has an easier job of things, making the most of the 100gb disc with an average video bitrate in the mid-70s mbps seen from a quick scan of the disc’s playback information. and yet what Green and co singularly failed to do was deliver a set of coherent films that delivered on their third and final and arguably most important promise. The film really works the quiet moments allowing big locations like the opening house plenty of atmosphere.
