Also for me being a beginner to mindfulness I think I need someone talking me through the exercises in audio format for the mindfulness exercises to work as there is no way I could retain all the instructions in my head. I was so shocked, I played the section back about five times because I thought I must have misunderstood something.
I've seen that other readers who don't have children have skipped these parts, but actually I found them very interesting because while the exercises there don't have any practical application to my life, they describe how the brain develops through the various phases of childhood. It isn't the first book of its kind, but it is probably the first of its kind with an injection of wit and humour.
