About this deal

If you have ever played PlayStation's SingStar franchise then you will know exactly what to expect as the two games' presentations are virtually identical.

Their lack of wireless ability is the least of your problems however, as they just don’t work particularly well. There is Duet mode where you can plug in multiple microphones and take turns singing different parts of the song. Turn up the volume, grab a mic and get the party started with a variety of unique game modes, “Classic”, “Duet”, “By Heart” and “Pass The Mic”. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average.Ethics The reviewer spent six hours belting her heart out / strangling a cat to earn 29 of the game's 37 achievements. If you haven’t had experiences of such, usually drink-fuelled nights if you’re an adult, you have to match your actions with an avatar on the screen which acts as your mirror image, with little images of upcoming dance moves scrolling across the screen to prepare you for your next move. Karaoke aficionados who prefer a challenge may instead be interested in By Heart mode, which is the same as Classic mode only with players having to remember the words when presented with the occasional missing line of lyrics. You won't be finding noughties or nineties hits in here, though – most of the songs were released in 2013 or later, save for James Blunt's You're Beautiful, which came out a grand 11 years ago. Subject to regulation by the Financial Conduct Authority and limited regulation by the Prudential Regulation Authority.

Having selected your song of choice, you're immediately faced with a choice of two game modes that can accommodate up to four microphones. All image and audio content is used by permission of the copyright holders or their agents, and/or according to fair dealing as per the UK Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988. We've also run over 700,000 gaming sessions to help our members unlock millions of achievements and make new friends. If you're a pop person, then there's Jessie J, Meghan Trainor, and Lady Gaga – but if it's dance music that you're looking for, then Calvin Harris, Avicii, and LMFAO (remember that phase? Split four ways into Solo, Party, Hip-Hop and Warm-Up, this is the element I was less confident in, having limited experience in dancing games, but there is video footage of me doing it.

The lyrics appear line by line at the bottom of the screen next to your score, while your tonal accuracy is represented by a line that will fill with colour if you hit the note perfectly. If you love the song, play it on the game; if you love watching music videos, then it’s probably best to switch on YouTube or MTV. The main problem, though, is that the game cannot recognise high notes regardless of your microphone. I’ll leave it up to you to decide if the Wii remote really can pick up the dance moves you’re doing or just guesses.

They plug into the USB ports on your Xbox which does limit the distance you can be from the console and occasionally sees singers tied up in knots once the party really gets going. However, if you are more co-ordinated than me then you’ll enjoy the selection of dances, which fit nicely into the songs and range in difficulty.

Solo is, naturally, the home for those who like to sing on their own for fear of embarrassment (or to practice their skills of course!
