About this deal

Avery and Finn decide they can help each other out – Finn will explore sex with Avery and show her ways to love herself, both through a man’s/romantic partner’s view, as well as the view she holds for herself, and Avery can use her business acumen to revive Finn’s floundering livelihood. She’s got a lot going for her - a good job, a long term boyfriend… then in the blink of an eye everything changes. Some parts of this book also made me slightly uncomfortable, especially the scene with Avery, Cass and Finn (I won’t spoil it) but it was completely unnecessary in my opinion and the author added it in for shock factor but in reality it actually did more harm than good.

Stand and Take a Bow Kay Cove, you did a wonderful job creating this intense, attention-snatching work of fiction. FMC And MMC attended a birthday party for Cass together, and the FMC finds out from Cass about the birthday tradition. I don’t want to say too much, because it really is best to go into this book blind, but you need to read it.

When I recommend this book to others, I would give a trigger warning for possibly a gray area of cheating in the book. Because she’s more of a plus-sized character, like me, I really appreciated the raw emotions that Avery struggled with and I loved how supportive Finn was of her and how he never ignored her feelings but loved her through them!

I think the most accurate to my feelings are that while I respect, admire, and appreciate the premise of a story like this, parts of the actual execution missed the mark. My favorite aspect honestly was probably the conversations the two had not just about sex but about everything. Both characters are really nice and both of them are going through some past bad experiences but together are doing quite well to go over them. Avery and Finn have instant attraction to each other but are initially just friends, until Avery asks him to be her sex coach in exchange for helping him with branding for his business. You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice. And then we got Finn our hero who is a dreamy ripped 6 ft hung like an elephant Adonis who is also a humble loving man and falls at first sight for the heroine and wants to be with her for eternity and worship her like no other man in her life yadda yadda BORING. I sympathized with her body image issues, but there was no where near enough growth in the book for me and it felt like only in the last 2 percent did she finally feel like she could accept herself. But overall, the idea was good, the spicy scenes were good and I liked the body positive message of the book. I love how he’s so patient with her and willing to take things at her pace to ensure that she doesn’t keep taking steps backward. Avery was such a fun, multifaceted adult and I loved watching her come out of her shell in different areas.
