About this deal

this will require a modding of BIOS and that is beyond my knowledge so i deem it's not worth the risk.

I could actually run GTA V and most modern games at native resolution for my monitor (one of those odd 16:10 1050p ones). Attempting to attach a native USB flash-drive directly to the second Thunderbolt port resulted in no device being detected by Windows. you can still let the internal monitor on for secondary screen, but for games only use the external one. This probably doesn’t make sense for most people and it’s not a project I would generally recommend. I bet the root cause of all of this is a firmware bug on the Tamales module and how it interacts with the host TB device drivers. In the event that you do need additional power the adapter has a connector for a floppy drive power connector.

Curiously, after getting it to work in this config, I can unplug everything and quickly plug in just the epgu and it seems to continue working even without the Dock, or with the Dock on the end of the chain instead of in the middle. I already started working on a modular design to fit ATX or SFX that can expand or contract to fit full-length or half-length GPUs.While you might not be able to play graphic intensive games or do video editing, they are more than enough for basic daily functions, like browsing the Internet or using office programs. Also, it is one of the few boards that is based around the Intel “Tamales 2” JHL7440 controller module. Aside from that, I'm using a GT 640 in a Dell Precision M4300 (Latitude D830), so it shouldn't be any different on yours.
